Honorable Mention

What started some three decades ago, when DGFK produced the movie titled "Amjads Village" in the small Pakistani hamlet Thatta Ghulamka Dheroka, located 80 Kilometers from Lahore, became a great project famous all over the world. Thanks to the volunteers who kept coming in the village and kept training the local girls and boys in skills to preserve the unique rural culture and at the same time, generate additional income for the participants. The huge numbers of volunteers who have been associated with the project are now a very closely knit community. They meet together and update each other whenever there is a possibility (or when they can create a possibility).

In 2001 Werner Schroeder was a volunteer for shoe making in the village TGD for AFA (NGO). Now he incorporated his interesting experiences in the village Thatta Ghulamka Dheroka in to a travel thriller from Dubai to Karimabad (500 pages hard cover).

Here the author is presenting his book to Dr Senta Siller - the originator of the project Thatta Kednoa.

The breadth and impact of Dr Senta's Pakistan project is always a beautiful ascertain!
