Also Marlis is busy with the village women in the BHU with so many different thing including new plants and some more local herbs.

Thatta Kedona Network

Anjuman-e-Falah-e-Aama (NGO) in village Thatta Kedona is always networking with likeminded NGOs for cooperation for new opportunities and fresh ideas. We are pleased to announce new cooperation with Al Firdous Welfare Association Bhara Kahu (Islamad-Murree Road). We are looking forward to exchange of students, handicraft training, recycling methods, health and drinking water, appropriate technology, housing and so much more in between.

Nature Health Medicine

Next year (2015) Thatta Kedona is celebrating its 25th anniversary Remember, the project started in 1990. We are planning so much new for the next year.

Under the banner of Nature Health Medicine, we will introduce some 20 different plants for the village. In the past villagers have always been participating in Nature Health Medicine project with zeal and enthusiasm. Hope is the new plants will also bloom and will change the look of the Dolls Village.

Aloe - Kawar Gandal

Aloe (locally called kawar gandal) is a common plant found both in urban as well as rural areas in Pakistan. It produces two substances, gel and latex, which are used for medicines. Aloe gel is the clear, jelly-like substance found in the inner part of the aloe plant leaf. Aloe latex comes from just under the plant's skin and is yellow in color. Some aloe products are made from the whole crushed leaf, so they contain both gel and latex. The aloe that is mentioned in the Bible is an unrelated fragrant wood used as incense.

Aloe medications can be taken by mouth or applied to the skin. Aloe gel is taken by mouth for osteoarthritis, bowel diseases including ulcerative colitis, fever, itching and inflammation, and as a general tonic. It is also used for stomach ulcers, diabetes, asthma, and for treating some side effects of radiation treatment.

The most important factors for the current development were laid in the 19th century. The rejection of thinking and acting as a community meant for the technology an enormous increase in the industrial production because the division of work led to higher productivity and new professions and it appeared on the face of it to increase the standard of living in western cultures (for example the Taylorism as introduced in Ford automobile factories etc.)

Analysis of the society by political and economic thinkers led to development theories, which could not foresee the effects of these policies as evidenced today. The cardinal error by these theorists was the euro-centristic model, i.e. nobody took the happenings in other cultures into consideration.
