“Thatta Kedona” at Christmas Bazaar in German Embassy Islamabad

This year’s ‘Christmas Bazaar’ at the German Embassy in Islamabad was organised on Friday, 1 December 2017 in full traditional German spirit with Christmas food and music.
A large number of people, including the staff of different diplomatic missions in the capital visited and enjoyed the ‘Christmas Bazaar’ at the embassy premises.

Bazaars always bring together volunteers, artists and so many others who are interested in cultural arts and there preservation and also help disseminate information. Lately, one bazaar was held in the City of Stuttgart on October 2-6, 2013. Dr Senta Siller, Monika Kuppler (volunteer from Women Centre Unit in TGD village), Marlis Bartkiewicz (volunteer from Basic Health Unit in TGD village) and Dr Norbert Pintsch participated and gave information about the NGO (Anjuman-e-Falah-e-Aama (NGO) in Thatta Ghulamka Dhiroka) and its activities.

In addition to the famous Thatta Kedona dolls, samples from Mr Waseem’s Lacquer Work, Mr Aslam’s Block Printing,Mr Naqqash’s Camel Skin Painting and Mr Haq Nawaz’s stationary as well as some dolls from NGO (CAT) in Bamenda and Mr Basil’s Brass casting were also displayed.

Tanto Mejor (CNG) in Saboya with dolls and samples from Senor Gerardo (Tagua work) was also there and attracted many visitors.

Thatta Kedona bazaars anywhere in the world create an ambience that shows part of Pakistan; its handmade cultural toys, souvenirs and greeting cards. That is why they are success with people who value handicrafts and cultural artifacts.
This year many successful bazaars were organized in Leipzig, Vienna, Stuttgart, Hamburg, and in the Ethnological Museum. With bazaar session 2012 is over, this Market of Continents have left some indelible memories in the mind of volunteers who gathered there reliving their experiences they have had in Thatta Ghulamka Dheroka (aka Dolls Village) and also in the minds of those who visited. Bazaar in House of Economy, Stuttgart

Bazaars are wonderful events. They bring together volunteers, artists and so many others who are interested in cultural arts and there preservation and helop disseminate information. Lately, one bazaar was held in Ethnologic Museum Vienna and another in House of Economy, Stuttgart.

Bazaar in House of Economy, Stuttgart brought together Marlies Barkiewicz who has been involved in BHU of AFA in TGD, Sophie Kuppler who was in summer school of WAC of AFA in TGD in the high mountains in Northern Pakistan, Inge Keindl who was in WAC of AFA in TGD not only in Pakistan but also in Cameroon and Colombia projects. Monika Kuppler who has been many times in Pakistan (and in Colambia) was also there in the Bazaar.
